What is Musical Freestyle? |
Dancing with your dog! Choreographed heeling, movement and tricks set to music are performed by handlers and their dogs. This results in a beautiful original, artistic program displaying wonderful teamwork, creativity, athleticism and complex movements while interpreting the theme of the music. No other sport displays the human/dog bond quite like Freestyle does. This sport has grown tremendously over the past few years and has dedicated competitors from all over the world. Freestyle has its roots in British Columbia back in the late 1980’s and developed rapidly in Canada, the USA and the UK. There are now several international freestyle organizations and many clubs all over the world filled with freestylers dancing with their dogs. |
